Markets largely slid sideways in the usually quiet end of the month of August. There was news though, including the last of Mag 7earnings (NVDA), political turmoil in France, PCE for July, and th usual list of Trump matters.

This week had a double trade war "positive" for investors, excellent earnings, strong earnings and a favourable outlook from Nvidia, the 2025 Bitcoin conference in Las Vegas, the release of minutes from the last FOMC meeting, and a poor Japanese 40y bond auction.

European and most US equity indices better, with UST yields widening across the curve. Focus in on elections in the UK and Europe.

Both equity and bonds were a touch softer last week. Even stellar earnings by NVDA could not completely save the day, although amazing.

Rather uneventful week in markets although equities generally better and yields a touch wider. Focus was on Jackson Hole, NVDA and rates.

This week was quiet although the slow drift lower for equities and bonds continued. China's economy and higher UST yields were the focus.

Debt ceiling drags on, Nvidia clobbers their earnings, and UK inflation rages. Still, equities power forward led by US tech and Japan.
